On December 8, 2025, the HKAII New Year Seminar & Anniversary Gala, hosted by the Hong Kong Academy of Industry and Innovation (HKAII), was successfully held at The Conrad Hong Kong. The event brought together over a hundred authoritative experts, academic scholars, think tank researchers, and leading figures from industry, finance and investment sectors. Participants conducted in-depth analysis on cutting-edge developments and trends in industrial innovation, explored opportunities and challenges underlying technological breakthroughs and business model transformation, and pooled wisdom to empower high-quality industrial development.
The event was hosted by Ge Jun, President of HKAII, with opening remarks delivered by Li Jiange—Chairman of the HKAII Academic Committee and former Director-General of the Sun Yefang Foundation. The New Year seminar featured five themed sessions focusing on critical topics: Economic Outlooks from Leading Economists, Industrial Upgrade, Innovation and Hard-Tech Investment, Core Capability Building, Domestic Overcompetition, Overseas Expansion and Globalization, as well as Global Investment Strategies in the New A+H Era. Numerous industry experts participated in in-depth exchanges and panel discussions. Zhang Weiying, Boya Distinguished Professor at Peking University’s National School of Development, also delivered a luncheon keynote titled Sources of Growth, sharing insightful perspectives with all attendees.







Two themed dialogues were arranged for the dinner session. Nearly 200 representatives from all sectors in Hong Kong joined in in-depth discussions, fostering a dynamic atmosphere of insightful intellectual exchange.

John A. Quelch, Chancellor of Duke Kunshan University, and Li Jiange delivered special keynote addresses in closing sequence, marking a perfect conclusion to the entire event.
The successful hosting of the HKAII New Year Seminar and Anniversary Gala has further strengthened this cross-sector, cross-regional platform for exchange and collaboration, fostering shared consensus and collective momentum for industrial innovation. Moving forward, HKAII will continue to serve as a key interconnecting bridge, partnering with all sectors of society to explore new pathways for industrial advancement and contribute greater expertise and insights to drive high-quality development across relevant fields.
